Digital Signage is becoming more and more visible. It can serve a number of purposes such as advertising or delivering a specific message to a targeted audience and can even be used as a digital menu in the local fast food restaurant. Personally, I am seeing it more and more in the local shopping centres, pubs, office reception areas and even in bus stops! So, is there a place for digital signage in the healthcare industry?
In short, yes. We at IDN Digital Visual Communications believe that there are a number of applications for digital signage in hospitals, doctor’s surgeries and dentists. Digital Signage can act as a communications portal in which healthcare providers can deliver key information to colleagues and patients, whilst at the same time entertaining people in the waiting room!
With Digital Signage you are able to display lots of different content such as videos, TV, text, images and Powerpoint presentations at any one time. Within the healthcare industry, this is ideal for:
- NHS and Department of Health campaigns and videos
- Specific information for your surgery or clinic
- Promoting websites relevant to health such as the NHS stop smoking website
- Displaying adverts for local businesses (a possible revenue stream)
- Displaying patient names when they are called through by the doctor, nurse or dentist
We at IDN would like to share our digital signage knowledge with you so if you want to learn more, please do let us know.
